About The Position
The Fish and Boat Commission is seeking a dedicated Fishing Boating Facilities Maintainer to care for its hatchery and boating facilities. This role involves hands-on work to maintain equipment and grounds, ensuring safe and clean environments for public use and contributing to the protection of Pennsylvania resources.
Requirements
- Two years of experience operating commercial or industrial-use wheeled or tracked motor vehicles used in groundskeeping, outdoor construction work, agriculture, mining, or forestry work; OR Two years of semi-skilled work experience in commercial building or plant maintenance and repair work; OR An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Possession of an active motor vehicle license.
- Possession of a valid PA Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair pumps, generators, filters, and other hatchery tools.
- Operate and service backhoes, loaders, forklifts, and similar machinery.
- Coordinate with hatchery staff and outside vendors to complete maintenance tasks.
- Perform grounds upkeep, including cutting grass, plowing snow, and maintaining roads, sidewalks, and parking areas.
- Repair doors, windows, roofs, fences, ponds, raceways, and related structures.
- Use safety equipment properly and manage parts purchasing through state systems.
