About The Position

As the Fiscal Technician 3, you will perform a variety of complex and technical fiscal processes with minimal oversight. You will exercise independent judgment in interpreting and applying fiscal procedures and guidelines as well as ensuring compliance with federal, state, and university policies and procedures. You understand the variety of funding sources for the College of Medicine, state accounts, grants, and unrestricted funds. You will provide excellent customer service, often during periods of heavy workload and tight deadlines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or GED certificate AND fifteen quarter hours or ten semester hours of college-level accounting or bookkeeping AND two years of full-time experience as a Fiscal Technician, or equivalent, including experience using accounting-related software
  • Demonstrated experience in processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory management, budget monitoring, grant funding services, or similar experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office including, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate of Arts Degree, or equivalent, in accounting or business may substitute for one year of required experience.
  • Experience providing financial support at a higher education institution.
  • Knowledge of university management practices, processes and policies.
  • Knowledge of the State of Washington and other funding agency guidelines.
