About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC) mission is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior. The Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women is seeking applicants for a Fiscal Manager. This position will supervise and direct the Administration of the Business Affairs at the institution.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, public administration or a related field.
  • Two years of professional accounting, business administration, public administration, or related experience.
  • Graduate study in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Additional experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the education on a year-for- year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the administration, supervision, and daily operation of the Business Office.
  • Supervises staff in preparation and maintenance of financial records, reports, budget, and accounts payable.
  • Supervises staff in accounting of receipts and disbursements of funds for inmate accounts and other funds.
  • Supervises staff responsible for property inventory and receiving warehouse.
  • Supervises staff responsible for the information system to include electronic devices and equipment repair.
  • Prepares financial records, reports, budgets, and advises the Warden and staff on fiscal policies and procedures and maintains American Correctional Association (ACA) documentation.
