About The Position

This position supports the financial planning and monitoring work that keeps major programs running within the Office of Medical Assistance Programs (OMAP). It brings together budget tracking, contract oversight, data review, and coordination with many partners to ensure smooth operations across the fiscal cycle. As a Fiscal Management Specialist 2, you will perform the following duties: Budget Monitoring Tools: Support the development and upkeep of tools that track spending trends and help identify potential budget issues. Contract Oversight: Maintain contract spreadsheets, guide staff on funding matters, and coordinate activities for contracts across OMAP appropriations. Funds Review: Review and approve commitments and shopping carts while working closely with staff from OMAP, budget, comptroller, and procurement. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, spreadsheets and updates that support budget planning, grants, and year-end activities. Data Analysis: Gather and study background information to determine impacts on the budget and present results orally or in written reports. Technical Assistance: Provide guidance to program staff and contract monitors on fiscal processes, account structures, and contract management tools.

Requirements

  • One year as a Fiscal Management Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • One year of experience in professional fiscal administration, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Be able to perform essential job functions
