About The Position

The Fiscal Grants Coordinator performs advanced and skilled accounting, administrative and technical work in the implementation of overall agency grant management, federal reporting, and compliance. Maintains a high level of professionalism with internal and external relationships. Assists the Deputy Director of Grants in the development and implementation of goals, reporting, and procedures relating to accounting, grant management, and audit preparedness. Works collaboratively with the Program Offices on preparation of Federal Financial Reports. Identifies expenditure variances and recommends methods, strategies, and procedures to ensure allocated resources are neither exceeded nor significantly under-spent. Serves as a resource to program staff and contractors on resolving complex grant-related fiscal functions; develops procedural changes and/or recommends process changes; responds to inquiries and audit activities, recommends corrective action, and ensures appropriate follow-up. Stay current on federal and state grant regulations to ensure agency compliance. Performs all other related work as required.

Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of accounting and municipal finance and grants management
  • Extensive knowledge of the laws governing the administration of state and federal grants
  • Working knowledge of computer operations including accounting/financial management software applications
  • Experience preparing financial reports and maintaining detailed and extensive records
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints to meet deadlines
  • Experience working effectively with local, state, and federal agencies and officials
  • Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and collaboration and work well with others in a variety of settings
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Experience providing training and technical guidance/consultation to a variety of audiences
  • Skill in the operation and maintenance of various types of office equipment including accounting software, word-processing, and Excel spreadsheets
