About The Position

This position involves performing a variety of clerical duties in a fast-paced medical setting. Key responsibilities include chart preparation, filing medical correspondence, managing electronic health records, scheduling and registering clients, updating demographic information, entering client services and immunization history, billing insurance companies, and assisting clients both in person and over the phone. The role also requires collecting and analyzing data for clinic eligibility, directing clients to appropriate services, and obtaining necessary authorizations from insurance companies. Travel to other work sites may be required.

Requirements

  • Willing to travel to various locations in Brevard County
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Knowledge of clerical settings
  • Customer service skills in person and over phone
  • Proficient computer knowledge and skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills with clients in person and over the phone
  • Ability to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English.

  • Experience with billing insurance claims utilizing medical coding under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of clerical duties in a fast-paced medical setting.
  • Prepare charts for all clinics.
  • Categorize and file medical correspondence and route records for follow-up.
  • Maneuver proficiently in electronic health records and verify insurance records with electronic databases.
  • Schedule and register clients for clinic services.
  • Obtain current demographic information and update existing records.
  • Enter client services in electronic health records.
  • Bill insurance companies for services rendered utilizing medical coding.
  • Enter client historical immunizations in electronic health records.
  • Assist clients on the phone and in person.
  • Collect, calculate, and analyze social and economic data for clinic eligibility determination.
  • Direct clients to needed services, agencies, and/or other staff using proper screening techniques.
  • Work with insurance companies to obtain authorizations when required for services.
  • May be required to travel as needed for coverage to other work sites.
