About The Position

The Fiscal Analyst 5 with the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Facilities, Technology and Analytics Administration (FTAA) leads time and attendance operations supporting Western State Hospital. The role ensures employees’ time, leave, and premium pay are recorded accurately and payroll deadlines are met. At the end of each pay period, the team processes approximately 20,000–25,000 time entries within roughly three days. The position manages coverage, resolves missing or incorrect entries, reviews reports, and works with supervisors to meet deadlines while applying rules from three collective bargaining agreements. The successful candidate will learn the operation, team, payroll process, bargaining agreements, and hospital leadership relationships, then identify errors, delays, and coverage gaps. Within the first year, the goal is a team that meets deadlines, resolves discrepancies, and is prepared for transition to a new timekeeping system. This is a hybrid position based in Tacoma, with at least two days per week in the office. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The work location is expected to move to Western State Hospital when its new facility opens in 2028. DSHS emphasizes belonging, fairness, access, social justice, and meaningful work in support of people across Washington. A background check may be conducted before hire. The announcement may be used to fill multiple vacancies.
