About The Position
The Connecticut General Assembly is seeking a full time Fiscal Analyst to support state legislators in the formulation and monitoring of state budgets and public policy. Analysts who thrive here tend to be self-starters. The analyst is expected to develop expertise in assigned state agencies/topics and be a resource for the legislature.
Requirements
- BA/BS
- Excellent interpersonal and superior writing skills
- Strong analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative)
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work quickly under pressure
- Comfort with collaboration
Nice To Haves
- MA/MPA or other advanced degree with strong background in fiscal analysis, economics, budgeting, and public policy
- Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word
- Large databases
Responsibilities
- Analyzing the fiscal impact of legislative proposals
- Answering budget related inquiries from legislators and staff
- Monitoring state spending and revenues
