About The Position

The Office of the State Attorney, Second Judicial Circuit of Florida serves as the chief prosecuting authority for Leon, Gadsden, Jefferson, Liberty, Franklin, and Wakulla counties. Led by State Attorney Jack Campbell, our office is committed to supporting victims, pursuing justice, working with community partners to enhance public safety, and reducing crime throughout our communities. Our mission is to serve the community through reducing crime and helping to mitigate the catastrophic impact that crime has on victims and offenders, their families, and society as a whole. This includes proactively addressing the causes of criminal behavior, working to achieve justice after a crime has been committed, and using creative strategies to lower recidivism.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalency
  • Two (2) years of bookkeeping, clerical or accounting experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Dependable and routine in-office attendance during regularly scheduled business hours.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Effective and efficient communication skills and ability to interact professionally with other employees, members of the public and stakeholders.
  • Collaborates effectively with others while applying strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Proficiency in navigating multiple computer systems, software applications, reporting formats and other office machinery.
  • Ability to follow rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.
  • Knowledgeable of Agency procedures and State laws relating to purchasing, travel and fleet
  • Recognizes the need to seek guidance when appropriate

Responsibilities

  • Procuring office supplies, equipment, and furniture
  • Maintaining contractual agreements with vendors
  • Coordinating travel arrangements for employees and witnesses
  • Managing fleet inventory
  • Assessing and coordinating routine facility needs with agency partners
  • Assisting in the development of more effective procedures
  • Conducting analyses of accounting data
  • Analyzing supply needs for all 5 counties then researching and choosing suppliers
  • Preparation of purchase authorization forms to conform with State purchasing laws
  • Timely completion of travel accommodations for employees and witnesses
  • Preparation of State Travel Voucher submitted for payment
  • Tracking of fuel usage and preventative maintenance for agency fleet
  • Preparation of monthly vehicle records in State system
  • Preparation of requests for facility needs
  • Perform related work as required
