About The Position

The Court Education Department (CourtEd) supports the administration of justice through the collaborative design and delivery of education, training, and professional development programs, and the development of practical resources for judges, appointed and elected officials, and court employees throughout the Judicial Branch. This position oversees work in fiscal tasks such as recording payroll transactions, purchasing, budget preparation, ensuring cost effectiveness, fiscal reporting, and project development. It also conducts new employee orientation and performs various Human Resources functions, serving as an interdepartmental liaison as needed. This position is for current Trial Court employees only and offers a hybrid schedule of no more than two days remote per week (subject to change).

Requirements

  • Associate Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Four (4) years of related work experience
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for meeting minimum qualifications.
  • Knowledge of Trial Court payroll requirements and variance.
  • Knowledge of Accounts payable, budgeting and accounting.
  • Knowledge of Operation and function of complex management organizational structures.
  • Knowledge of Automated information system.
  • Knowledge of Trial Court procurement policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Expenditure classifications.
  • Skill in Recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

  • Administers overall contract process for any planned and unplanned services supporting the operations of the court department.
  • Monitors the contract and fiscal activity for compliance with governing laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Monitors funding allocation, object code budgeting and expenditure accounting.
  • Monitors and projects expenditures and confers with management on the need for additional funding or funding transfers.
  • Provides various fiscal, budget and contract monitoring reports to management.
  • Handles all payroll transactions and attendance issues.
  • Supervises daily payroll operations and resolves complex payroll issues.
  • Facilitates hiring process and orientation of new employees and interns.
  • Performs benefits administration for staff and judges.
  • Verifies employment, attendance, and leave of absence requests.
  • Supervises fiscal tasks within the department.
  • Oversees documentation for Americans with Disability Acts.
  • Handles special projects as assigned.
  • Prepares, reviews, compares, and manages contracts.
  • Manages purchasing for the Departmental Office.
  • Coordinates with other departments.
  • Performs other duties as required.
