About The Position

Boeing Distribution, Inc. Boeing Global Services (BGS), Distribution Business, is looking for a dynamic First Line Quality Manager to join our Team of Quality Professionals in Enfield, CT. This is a front-line leader role, managing a team of quality inspectors supporting various sites, adhering to AS9100/9120 standards. The role involves reviewing and providing daily workload, direction, guidance, and coaching while holding oneself, the team, and peers to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will lead with a focus on safety, quality, and integrity, fostering a culture rooted in humility, inclusion, and transparency. Additionally, the role actively seeks to incorporate best leadership practices, acquires and oversees resources for the team, and drives process improvements. Establishing and sustaining relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers, and direct reports is crucial.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or format manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • 3+ years of experience in the Commercial/Defense or Distribution Aviation Industry
  • Knowledgeable of AS9100/9120 and ASA-100 Standards
  • Proficient computer skills and thorough knowledge of MS Office programs (Excel, Access, etc.)
  • FAA, CAA, EASA Experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 25% of the time
  • Must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, administrators, and maintains quality control procedures and activities required to ensure that the company's products comply with drawing and customer requirements.
  • Lead/coach Process Improvement teams across Functions
  • Review and manage IT solutions that support the Quality organization
  • Execute quality department budget and manage expenses to approved budget
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Lead/develop assigned team to ensure material configurations support drawing and business requirements
  • Maintain FAA configuration and eligibility across business unit
