About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a First Line Manufacturing Manager to support the Air Dominance Operations team for Advanced Composite Fabrication Center (ACFC) in Mesa, AZ! This position will require strong teamwork and communication skills to effectively work with the build team to support various proprietary programs. Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly processes and procedures
  • 3+ years of experience in lean processes and initiatives
  • 3+ years manufacturing experience driving improvements across safety, quality, delivery, cost, innovation and people on production and development programs
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a multi-functional team of mechanics responsible for fabrication of various products and processes
  • Manage employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines, in multiple facilities/locations
  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies
  • Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, processes and products.
  • Leads, develops and motivates employees
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers and partners
  • Promote employee engagement and build an organizational culture that fosters safety and quality performance, improves employee satisfaction and retains and develops a skilled and motivated workforce
  • Forecasts resource needs, obtains and manages personnel, facilities, equipment, training and tools to meet operating requirements
