About The Position

This co-op position focuses on two main areas: Firmware Development Tools & Infrastructure (70%) and Embedded Firmware Implementation (30%). In the tools and infrastructure aspect, you will develop and enhance firmware build automation and toolchains, create CI workflows and automated testing solutions, integrate code quality, security, and static analysis tools, and improve source control, code review, and release processes. You will also document and standardize development workflows. For the embedded firmware implementation, you will develop firmware for next-generation actuator platforms, assist with BSP, driver, and application software development, debug firmware and support hardware bring-up activities, participate in product validation and testing, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.

Requirements

Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline
Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals and problem-solving
Experience or coursework in embedded systems development
Familiarity with C/C++ programming
Exposure to software development processes, version control, and debugging tools
Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and data sheets
Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively

Nice To Haves

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce)
Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
Experience with personal, academic, or team-based embedded software projects
Familiarity with embedded debugging tools and techniques
Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS)
Familiarity with static analysis and unit testing frameworks
Familiarity with secure software development practices
