About The Position

This role involves developing firmware for embedded systems, with a focus on control systems and hardware interaction. The developer will work on microcontrollers and embedded Linux environments, integrating firmware with higher-level applications and hardware. The position is located in Atlanta, Georgia, and operates on a hybrid model. The company is Kaleidoscope, an Infosys Company, and is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

  • Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).
  • Experience in control systems with protocols like I2C, I^C, UART SPI, Bare Metal and RTOS.
  • Strong experience in Embedded C/C++ development on microcontrollers (bare-metal/RTOS) for hardware control (sensors, motors, valves, ADC/DAC, PWM).
  • Hands-on with embedded Linux (Yocto) including system integration, boot flow, and device communication.
  • Experience in hardware interfacing and communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, RS-485, SMBus).
  • Knowledge of control systems (PID/feedback loops) and real-time embedded design.
  • Familiarity with firmware architecture, bootloaders, and firmware upgrade mechanisms.
  • Experience in debugging complex systems involving MCU firmware + Linux applications, including fault handling and diagnostics.
  • Understanding of embedded Linux security, containerization (Docker), and system-level integration.
  • Experience in Medical device development.
  • Ability to help in integration of Main application(.NET) with Firmware and Hardware.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to medical standards (e.g., IEC 62304) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop firmware for hardware control using microcontrollers (bare-metal/RTOS) and embedded Linux (Yocto).
  • Implement and interface with control systems and communication protocols (I2C, UART, SPI, RS-485, SMBus).
