About The Position

This role involves developing firmware for control systems, with a focus on hardware control, system integration, and debugging complex embedded systems. The developer will work with microcontrollers, embedded Linux, and various communication protocols. There will also be a need to assist in the integration of the main application (.NET) with firmware and hardware.

Requirements

  • Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Experience in control systems with protocols like I2C, I^C, UART SPI, Bare Metal and RTOS.
  • Strong experience in Embedded C/C++ development on microcontrollers (bare-metal/RTOS) for hardware control (sensors, motors, valves, ADC/DAC, PWM).
  • Hands-on with embedded Linux (Yocto) including system integration, boot flow, and device communication.
  • Experience in hardware interfacing and communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, RS-485, SMBus).
  • Knowledge of control systems (PID/feedback loops) and real-time embedded design.
  • Familiarity with firmware architecture, bootloaders, and firmware upgrade mechanisms.
  • Experience in debugging complex systems involving MCU firmware + Linux applications, including fault handling and diagnostics.
  • Experience in Medical device development.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of embedded Linux security, containerization (Docker), and system-level integration.
  • Exposure to medical standards (e.g., IEC 62304).

Responsibilities

  • Develop firmware for control systems using Embedded C/C++ on microcontrollers (bare-metal/RTOS).
  • Implement hardware control for sensors, motors, valves, ADC/DAC, and PWM.
  • Perform system integration, manage boot flow, and handle device communication within embedded Linux (Yocto).
  • Interface with hardware using communication protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, RS-485, and SMBus.
  • Debug complex systems involving MCU firmware and Linux applications, including fault handling and diagnostics.
  • Assist in the integration of the main application (.NET) with firmware and hardware.
