GDIT is seeking a senior Fires Systems Engineer to support AFATDS and related systems for Canadian Army artillery units and the Joint Fires Modernization Project Management Office. The role involves installing, configuring, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting AFATDS operating systems, application software, system management tools, and software interfaces. The engineer monitors system, network, infrastructure, and application performance and helps maintain secure, highly available, reliable, and resilient systems. The position also supports systems design and enhancement, technical reporting, artillery operator training, and simulated and live-fire exercises. Additional work includes system acceptance and technical testing, managing interfaces among current and future systems, and providing onsite and remote field-unit support for AFATDS implementation. The position is onsite in an international work location, with 40 scheduled hours per week and less than 10% travel required. The stated likely salary range is $107,744–$126,500; actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, and contractual requirements. International compensation may also vary according to tax, social security, immigration status, and location, and may include allowances, premium uplifts, or relocation or transportation benefits. GDIT describes its culture as mission-focused, innovative, and military-friendly, with career growth tools and internal mobility support. Benefits described include comprehensive benefits and wellness packages, competitive pay, paid time off, a 401(k) with company match, and—in the US-based employee benefits description—medical, dental, vision, disability, life and other insurance options, paid leave, and flexible work weeks where possible.
