About The Position
The City of Airway Heights Fire Department is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the position of Firefighter. The Department serves a total population of approximately 12,100 year-round residents and operates from one station staffed by 4 career chief officers, 7 career firefighters, and 20 volunteers. The 2027 salary range for the Firefighter position is $7,057.42 - $8,426.92 monthly, plus an excellent benefits package. Applications must be received by 4:00 p.m. on October 9, 2026. Requirements
- IFSAC/ProBoard Firefighter I certification
- current Washington State EMT-B or National Registry EMT-B
- Must possess or obtain a valid state driver’s license
Benefits
- Qualified employees are eligible for benefits the first of the month after hire date.

- VACATION TIME: Employees will receive the following vacation benefit per year: Year 1-4 = 8 hours/month
- SICK LEAVE: Employees will accrue 10 hours of sick leave every month.
- PAID HOLIDAYS: The City offers 11 paid holidays and 4 personal holidays.
- CLOTHING ALLOWANCE: $1,500 per year after the first year of employment.
