About The Position

The Fire Department is currently recruiting for Firefighter-Paramedic. We are a full-service Fire-EMS department located approximately 20 miles southwest of downtown Houston that invests in our team and offers real opportunities for career growth. Our culture is important to us as we continue to build on the fire family feel within our workforce. Our firefighters get to enjoy a number of different disciplines. We offer a state-of-the-art in city training facility, with future expansion planned to include live-fire training buildings. We have a bike team, technical rescue, ATVs, radically advanced medical response, department podcasts, and more. Our goal is to provide exceptional support to our team members as they deliver premier service to our community.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Valid State of Texas Class B or CDL Driver’s License (required prior to operating fire apparatus)
  • Current Firefighter certification from Texas Commission on Fire Protection
  • Current TDSHS (Texas Department of State Health Services) EMS (Paramedic) Certification or License
  • Must be able to successfully pass Emergency Services Job Task Simulation Test (prior to going on shift)
  • Must pass NFPA Physical when administered.
  • Must complete and pass each step of the selection process.
  • Entire Application must be completed.
  • Attach proof of Firefighter Certification and Paramedic Certification or License to application.
  • Completed and fully notarized Background Investigation Packet & Waivers

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical work providing fire suppression, rescue operations and appropriate patient care including ambulance transportation at the scenes of emergency situations.
  • Work shift rotations between ambulance and fire unit assignments.
  • Respond to fire alarms and emergency medical calls.
