About The Position
Join our team! We are hiring for the role of Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician in the Fire Department. LATERAL HIRING PROCESS ONLY. This position is identified as having occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.

Responsibilities
- Respond to various emergency situations, including fires, medical emergencies, vehicular accidents, hazardous material incidents, and surface water rescues.
- Respond to various alarms, carrying and setting up appropriate equipment at emergency scenes.
- Suppress fires, including, but not limited to: climbing ladders, crawling, walking on roofs and floors, & focusing streams of water and/or chemicals toward fires.
- Search for and rescue victims from dangerous situations.
- Respond to emergency medical calls.
- Provide medical care to sick or injured people.
- Work as part of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team to help stabilize patients.
- Respond to reports of hazardous materials, including identifying/confining hazardous materials to minimize or prevent damage.
- Perform various administrative tasks as required, including typing and preparing reports.
- Monitor and perform general maintenance on equipment.
- Assist in maintaining fire station and grounds.
