About The Position

This is the fourth level in the fire series. Incumbents drive fire department vehicles in emergency and non-emergency situations and perform basic preventative maintenance on assigned equipment or coordinate and provide responses to medical emergencies and operate rescue truck apparatus. Incumbents are responsible for driving fire department vehicles may schedule routine and non-routine maintenance; place apparatus at incidents; dispatch equipment and personnel; and operate a variety of fire department vehicles. Incumbents responsible for coordinating and providing a response to medical emergencies may develop and implement medical protocols, perform motor vehicle extrications; and operate all medical equipment on a rescue truck.
