About The Position

Johnson Controls is hiring a Fire Suppression Service Technician to service, repair, troubleshoot, and install portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, suppression gas systems, and related building system products at customer sites. The technician works with systems from multiple manufacturers, including Simplex and ANSUL, and with clean agent, dry chemical, and special-hazard systems. The role includes reading and interpreting technical documentation and managing daily service calls, customer activity, and system programming. The technician also assists customers, inspects suppression gas systems according to contract requirements, and participates in an emergency-service on-call rotation.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Outstanding customer-facing service and problem-solving skills.
PC skills, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
FEL-A.

Nice To Haves

Manufacturer certifications, such as ANSUL or Kiddie PyroChem.
RMEI and preferably a Multi License.
Valid U.S. driver's license.

Responsibilities

Service and repair portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, suppression gas systems, and related building system products at customer sites.
Troubleshoot and install equipment from multiple manufacturers, including Simplex and ANSUL.
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software and systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
Manage daily service calls, customer activity, and system products and programs.
Assist customers with questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service.
Inspect suppression gas systems according to contract requirements and inspect customer systems.
