About The Position

Johnson Controls is hiring a Fire Suppression Technician to service and repair portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, suppression gas systems, and related building system products at customer sites. The technician will work with products from multiple manufacturers, including Simplex and ANSUL, and interpret technical documentation and system materials to perform the work. The role includes managing daily service calls, customer activity, and system products, as well as participating in an on-call rotation for emergency service.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Outstanding customer-facing service and problem-solving skills.
• PC skills, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Manufacturer certifications are a plus, including ANSUL, Kiddie, or PyroChem.
• Valid U.S. driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, suppression gas systems, and other related building system products at customer sites.
• Service, troubleshoot, and install systems from multiple manufacturers, including Simplex and ANSUL.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software and systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
• Manage daily service calls, customer activity, and system products.
• Assist customers with questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service.
• Inspect suppression gas systems according to contract requirements.
