About The Position
This role involves the installation of fire protection piping, valves, and accessories for commercial and industrial applications. The apprentice will also perform inspections of various sprinkler systems and maintain proper documentation. The position requires the ability to work alternative shifts or weekends and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. The apprentice will receive and provide instructions, carry equipment, and perform physical labor in various positions, including climbing ladders and scaffolding.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Self-starter that can work with little or no supervision
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude
- Capable of performing physical labor
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer and/or job requirements.
- Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Perform the installation of fire protection piping, valves and accessories for commercial and industrial application.
- Perform the inspection of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
- Maintain proper documentation for work performed.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Provide verbal and written instructions to apprentices.
- Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs.
- Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
