The Fire Sprinkler Journeyman is responsible for leading and supervising fire sprinkler installation crew(s). This role ensures work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved shop drawings, contract documents, NFPA standards, and local codes. The Working Foreman coordinates labor and materials while maintaining quality workmanship, productivity and safety

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of fire sprinkler installation experience
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 13 standard
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Solid understanding of sprinkler materials, installation methods, and tools
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory or journeyman experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leader of fire sprinkler mechanic(s) on job sites
  • Plan, layout, and oversee the installation of fire sprinkler systems per drawings and specifications
  • Interpret coordinated shop drawings
  • Coordinate daily work activities, manpower, and material needs
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local fire codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies
  • Conduct job site safety meetings as necessary and enforce safe work practices
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and code compliance
  • Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, and other trades
  • Track labor hours, productivity, and report progress to management
  • Identify and resolve field issues, including design conflicts and material shortages
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanliness
  • Assist with system testing, flushing, and final inspections as required
