About The Position

Thorpe Design is seeking an experienced Journeyman Fire Sprinkler Installer to join our Custom Homes Division. This position is responsible for installing residential fire sprinkler systems in custom homes in accordance with approved plans, project specifications, NFPA standards, and local code requirements. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, takes pride in quality workmanship, and works well independently and as part of a team. Requirements

  • Fire sprinkler installation experience required
  • Knowledge of NFPA 13D and NFPA 13R standards
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and shop drawings
  • Valid California driver's license
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safety, professionalism, and quality workmanship

Nice To Haves

  • Residential fire sprinkler experience preferred
  • Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter Card preferred

Responsibilities

  • Install residential fire sprinkler systems in custom homes.
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Install CPVC piping, sprinkler heads, valves, and related components.
  • Ensure installations comply with NFPA 13D, NFPA 13R, and applicable local codes.
  • Coordinate with builders, inspectors, and other trades on job sites.
  • Assist with inspections and project closeout activities.
  • Complete required installation documentation accurately and on time.
  • Communicate effectively with field leadership and project management teams.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
  • Any other task deemed necessary by TDI management.
