About The Position

Chetwynd Forest Industries, part of West Fraser, is recruiting for a Fire Protection position. This role involves maintaining fire suppression systems and equipment, keeping detailed documentation, and working collaboratively with other trades and employees. The position requires a self-motivated individual with a good performance record and mechanical background, who can handle small construction projects and day-to-day operations, including water system maintenance.

Requirements

Mechanical aptitude; excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to work closely with other trades and employees
Commitment to working safely and creating a safe workplace
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Flexible schedule to work days, nights and/or weekend shifts

Nice To Haves

Preference will be given to candidates with a wide variety of experience.
Red Seal Trade Certification in one or more of the following trades: Plumber, Pipefitter, Carpenter but not required.

Responsibilities

Maintain Fire suppression systems and equipment.
Keep documentation of inspections that relate to WF Property Conservation manual developed by AON and be key member during AON Audits.
Ability to work closely with all other trades and employees.
Ability to take direction.
Self-Motivated
Good performance record – safety, production, quality, attendance.
Good Mechanical Background
Candidate must provide their own tools.
Ability to handle small construction projects and maintain day to day operations of on site.
Maintain water systems such as: sink/faucet repair, bathroom repair, domestic water maintenance
