About The Position

As a Fire Protection Engineering Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and project teams on projects involving life safety systems and fire protection design. Throughout this 11- week internship program, you will assist with fire alarm and fire suppression system layouts, support code analysis and life safety reviews, participate in project coordination meetings with multidisciplinary teams, review applicable fire and building codes, attend site visits and observe construction progress, assist with permit and construction documentation preparation, and learn how fire protection systems integrate into architectural and MEP designs. Interns will gain hands-on experience using industry-standard mechanical engineering software and tools, including AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, NFPA standards and code review resources, BIM coordination tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Requirements

Currently enrolled as a junior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Interested in life safety systems and code compliance
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communicator and collaborative team player
Eager to learn in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary AEC environment
