About The Position

Coffman Engineers is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and quality-oriented individual with an interest in engineering to join their Houston office team as a Fire Protection Engineering Intern during the Spring/Summer 2027 break. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of post-secondary education in an accredited fire protection engineering program. This internship offers an opportunity to work with a team of engineering professionals dedicated to excellence.

Requirements

Enrolled as a full-time student in an engineering program at a nationally recognized, accredited college.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Detail oriented and organized.
Ability to work up to 40 hours during the Spring/Summer break.
This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
No paid interview travel or relocation expenses are offered for this position.

Nice To Haves

Two years of required courses completed towards an undergraduate engineering degree.
Actively enrolled in a Fire Protection Engineering program or completing fire-protection–focused coursework as part of their engineering studies.

Responsibilities

Assist with fire protection engineering tasks as part of the Fire Protection Initiative.
Contribute to projects for commercial, retail, institutional, government, and industrial clients.
Work with a multi-discipline engineering team including civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
