Fire Prevention Coordinator

About The Position

Coordinates the day-to-day fire prevention operations for the Safety, Security, & Parking department. Responsibilities include monthly and annual fire extinguisher checks, maintenance requirements for fire prevention equipment, required fire drills, and interim life safety measure inspections.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Three to five years of supervisory experience in a comparable security, parking, or customer service operation.
Possess a driver’s license and be insurable by HH standards.
Obtain Heart Saver CPR certification within 90 days.
Complete the HR Management Series within 12 months.
Obtain IAHSS membership within 12 months.
Obtain IAHSS Basic, Advanced, and Supervisor credentials within 12 months.
Complete the Alabama Fire College Fire Inspector Course within 12 months.
Obtain one of the following within 18 months: Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), OCAT/PATH, Defensive Driving, NSC Defensive Driving Instructor, CHSP, CHPA, Taser Instructor, or a director-approved credential.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize, and change tasks frequently and quickly.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to enforce policies assertively yet courteously.
Some computer skills, including the ability to use word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Nice To Haves

Degree in law, law enforcement, public safety, or a business-related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience in a fire department or fire-prevention-related field, or in a health care setting.

Responsibilities
