About The Position

Guardian Security Services is seeking professional Fire Life Safety Directors to support a commercial property in New York City. The role is suited to individuals with sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a polished, professional demeanor appropriate for a commercial environment. Directors maintain a welcoming presence for tenants, guests, and vendors; monitor building access and activity; respond to alarms and emergencies; staff the command station and lobby desk; and carry out emergency action and fire plans when necessary. The position is offered as full-time or part-time, with variable shifts covering days, evenings, overnights, and weekends, seven days per week. Pay is $28.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Valid T89 License or F89 License.
• At least 1 year of Fire Life Safety Director experience.
• Prior experience in residential or corporate buildings.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Professional appearance and polished demeanor.
• Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional and welcoming presence for tenants, guests, and vendors.
• Monitor building access points and maintain awareness of building activity.
• Respond promptly and professionally to supervisory, trouble, and fire alarms, as well as emergencies.
• Man the command station and lobby desk.
• Assist with package handling and vendor deliveries when required.
• Maintain control and documentation of the building.
• Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations.
• Make announcements.
• Enforce building policies while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
• Carry out emergency action plans (EAP) and fire plans when necessary.
