About The Position

This is a part-time position focused on ensuring existing fire hydrants are painted according to AWWA color code specifications. The role involves refurbishing old paint, pressure washing, removing paint chips, and applying primer and paint to fire hydrants. The position requires adherence to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations from OSHA, Workman's Compensation, and state/federal bodies. The individual will also be responsible for maintaining positive customer relations and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Valid TN Driver License and safe driving record
Good knowledge of Rutherford County
Intermediate Computer Skills Level
Operate a wide range of equipment and hand and air tools
Basic tools, equipment, and vehicle maintenance
Must have initiative and be resourceful in problem solving
Must be able to communicate with people of all economic & education levels
Should be detailed oriented, able to focus on task-at-hand
Must arrive on time
Report any problems with equipment

Responsibilities

Assist in ensuring existing CUD fire hydrants are painted/re-painted to AWWA color code specifications.
Refurbish old, faded paint on the fire hydrants.
Supports and implements all company safety policies and procedures.
Conforms to guidelines formulated under OSHA, Workman’s Compensation, and company’s insurance carrier as well as State and Federal regulators.
Maintains a safety attitude among employees.
Maintains positive, productive customer relations/communications.
Pressure washes old paint and dirt off existing fire hydrants
Remove old paint chips using wire brush
Apply Primer to fire hydrant
Apply paint to fire hydrant barrel and bonnet
