About The Position
Martek has been awarded several long-term Federal contracts to provide a wide range of real estate talent. Our team is seeking a Fire Protection Specialist to join our team supporting the Department of Energy (DoE) with the required education and experience outlined below. This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week, located at 1000 Independence Ave SW, Washington, DC 20024.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Science, Safety Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Nice To Haves
- Professional certifications (e.g., NICET, CFPS) preferred
Responsibilities
- Evaluates fire protection systems including alarms, sprinklers, and suppression systems.
- Coordinates inspections, testing, and certification with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).
- Reviews facility layouts to ensure compliance with fire codes and safe egress.
- Advises on fire risks associated with relocation activities.
- Ensures compliance with NFPA standards and federal safety regulations.
