About The Position

Koorsen is hiring an entry-level Fire Extinguisher Technician in Muncie, Indiana. The technician inspects and services fire extinguishers, fire hoses, emergency and exit lights, and kitchen hood suppression systems, while helping customers understand the products and systems maintained at their properties. The role requires professional interaction with customers, vendors, and coworkers, compliance with safety practices and company policies, and willingness to continue learning. The listed salary is $19–$25 per hour, depending on experience; after training, compensation transitions to 100% incentive pay. The position involves using hand and power tools, carrying at least 50 pounds, pushing and pulling more than 75 pounds, climbing ladders reaching at least 12 feet, and using a man lift. Work may involve outdoor weather, temperature changes, and loud noise. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Hiring requirements include completing the I-9 employment eligibility verification within three days of hire. Employment eligibility is verified through E-Verify. Background checks and a urinalysis drug test are required as described in the posting.

Requirements

At least 1 year of mechanical skills and customer service experience.
Pass drug and background screenings.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Meet state licensing requirements and vendor certifications.
Valid driver's license.
Able to safely and effectively use general hand and power tools.
Able to use a cell phone and cell phone app effectively.
Able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
Able to push and pull more than 75 pounds.
Able to climb a ladder reaching at least 12 feet and use a man lift to perform service.
