Fire Damper Machine Operator
About The Position
The primary function of this position is to fabricate and assemble fire dampers. This role involves following guidance from lead personnel for basic assembly, operating roll forming machines, assembling finished dampers, and performing Mig welding on machine parts. The operator must be capable of working in multiple departments and running various machines, communicating any issues effectively, and maintaining a safe and clean work area. The position also requires the use of assorted metal cutting saws, electric handheld and manual tools, operating multiple press breaks, bench assembly according to company standards, and machining component parts using sharp cutting tools.
Requirements
- Must be able to work 10-hour shift Monday-Thursday.
- Must be flexible – OT and weekend are required as needed.
- Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
- Basic math skills.
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use low voltage electric current readers.
- Ability to operate a manual/electric hand truck in and between multiple departments.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience reading a tape measure.
- Must pass tape measure exam.
- Must be in good physical condition.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, twist, and turn for long periods of time in a manufacturing environment (Varied based on daily tasks).
- Must be able to lean over worktable(s) for periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to push and pull up to 65 lbs.
- Must have good hand/eye coordination.

Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble fire dampers.
- Follow guide from Lead person(s) for basic assembly of fire dampers.
- Run roll forming machines.
- Assembly of finished dampers.
- Mig welding machine parts.
- Work within multiple departments and run multiple machines.
- Communicate any issues that arrive effectively.
- Safely operate machines while maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Use of assorted metal cutting saws and electric handheld and manual tools.
- Operate multiple press breaks.
- Bench Assembly – Assembling products together per company standards.
- Machining of component parts - use of sharp cutting tools to remove excess material from a part.
- Other duties as assigned.
