This role is accountable for maintaining production and quality targets, ensuring optimal staff levels, and scheduling workflow to meet client deadlines. The supervisor will monitor throughput and performance, train and motivate staff, set goals, review performance, and assess training needs. They will also manage consumables/supplies, solve production and process problems, and monitor lab QC standards, being responsible for the quality of all data released. The position involves performing method validation, data evaluation and approval, and collaborating with other supervisors and managers to resolve client issues and ensure customer satisfaction. Additionally, the role includes performing accident/incident investigations with root cause analysis and corrective actions, scheduling staff, recommending staff level adjustments, and potentially performing Umpire Control Party analysis. The supervisor will evaluate processes for improvement, communicate personnel issues to the Operations Manager, supervise laboratory analysis according to established methods and QC standards, and plan/initiate procedures for the company's quality program. Maintaining logs and records, ensuring equipment maintenance (including preventative maintenance schedules and contractor arrangements), and organizing waste disposal are also key responsibilities.
