About The Position

As a Fire Alarm Systems Technician at Power Design, you’ll work for the largest distributor of Gamewell-FCI systems in the United States. You’ll have access to field technologies, including a fully equipped iPad, and oversee installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of fire alarm systems on large-scale construction projects. As the regional subject matter expert for life safety and fire alarm systems, you must be willing to travel as needed and hold a valid driver’s license.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of related work experience.
• Proficient knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and construction safety requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with new construction and large commercial installations, preferably.
• Gamewell-FCI and/or Notifier certifications.
• NICET fire alarm certifications are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical adviser on fire alarm systems programming and configuration, working with the installation team and local fire marshal to ensure code requirements are met.
• Act as a liaison between the project team, other trades, and customers, partnering with the superintendent and foremen to keep production on track.
• Work with the local jurisdiction and fire marshal to ensure code compliance.
• Use company-provided technology, including an iPad and smartphone, to complete work on time, follow blueprints and specifications, and exceed customer expectations.
• Oversee installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of fire alarm systems on large-scale construction projects.
