About The Position

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Helper to join its growing team. The helper assists with routine installation and checkout of a variety of systems, using codes, company procedures, engineering drawings, and personnel analysis. The role also involves developing a positive interface with customers to build confidence and satisfaction with system installation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Interest in learning and growing in the fire-life safety industry.
• Good organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime and out of town, if needed.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to work independently with some supervision.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to obtain OSHA 10.
• Physical fitness to perform demanding trade work, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds; ability to work at heights and climb ladders; and standing and walking for most of the workday.
• Ability to travel overnight occasionally, as needed.
• Ability to learn and safely use standard trade tools.

Responsibilities

• Utilize electrical tools and meters.
• Aid with conduit and wire installation.
• Assist with installation of devices, including fire alarm and security devices.
• Assist with installation of fire alarm, voice/data, and security systems.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Comply with industry standards and procedures and Sciens safety programs and policies.
