The Life Safety intern will be exposed to a wide variety of fire alarm and fire protection systems aspects with broad roles and responsibilities to include: assisting engineers, CAD design support, data analysis, documentation, project coordination, fieldwork assistance, software proficiency, safety compliance, research and development support.

Requirements

Interest in engineering concepts
A solid academic background in subjects like mathematics and physics, effective communication skills for collaborating with team members

Currently pursuing a high school degree or equivalent
Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time

Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard
Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand

Responsibilities

supporting engineers in their projects by conducting research, preparing reports, and assisting with technical tasks
assisting in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tasks, such as creating drawings, sketches, or models, working under supervision to gain practical skills
data analysis
documentation tasks like organizing project specifications and reports
helping with project coordination by managing timelines and communication between team members
accompanying engineers on field visits, inspections, or testing activities to gain hands-on experience
Learning engineering software tools
