About The Position

Axiom is seeking FinTech Lawyers to provide legal services to some of the world’s largest companies across industries. The role focuses on transactional and regulatory counsel involving digital assets, cryptocurrency, blockchain, NFTs, decentralized finance, cryptocurrency lending, and other complex financial products and offerings. Lawyers advise internal business stakeholders on legal risks and opportunities, particularly regarding state and federal regulations, licensing, and examinations, and work cross-functionally with teams including Legal, Marketing, Product, Operations, and Finance. This is an existing vacancy.

Requirements

At least 8 years of experience in financial services regulatory and compliance, with a strong understanding of digital assets, currencies, and emerging financial products.
Experience advising clients on federal and state regulatory licensing, registration, compliance, and enforcement matters.
Experience advising on complex bank and money transmission regulatory issues.
Active bar license for the state in which the candidate physically resides.

Nice To Haves

Strong understanding of federal securities laws and regulations, including forming or registering broker-dealers; advising crypto exchanges and other blockchain-focused companies; responding to SEC and FINRA examinations; and reviewing and revising AML compliance policies and procedures.
Ability to advise on privacy and cybersecurity risks associated with digital currency and products.
Excellent academic and law firm credentials, with experience in a dynamic in-house environment.

Responsibilities

Provide transactional and regulatory counsel on digital assets, cryptocurrency, blockchain, NFTs, decentralized finance, cryptocurrency lending, and other complex financial products and offerings.
Advise internal business stakeholders on legal risks and opportunities, focusing on state and federal regulations, licensing, and examinations.
Structure, draft, negotiate, and review agreements with financial institutions and other partners.
Partner with colleagues across teams including Legal, Marketing, Product, Operations, and Finance.
