We are currently seeking experienced and professional full-time candidates to join our team. Job Summary Finishing Associate has knowledge of operation of most/all packaging and shipping requirements for expediting all grand format projects by FedEx, UPS, Freight, DE Truck, Courier, and Will Call. This allows the finisher to be able to meet customer and company expectations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required
  • Computer skills, including MS and Excel office
  • Strong communication skills in English and Spanish a plus
  • Be able to adjust to different work environments and work under pressure when necessary
  • Previous packaging knowledge preferable
  • Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently, as required when moving packaged items, materials, or finished products for shipment or delivery.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for tasks such as packaging, labeling, counting items, and operating packaging equipment.
  • Standing/Walking: Must be able to stand or walk for long periods, particularly during packaging and shipping activities. This may involve moving between production areas and shipping stations.
  • Repetitive Motion: Frequent repetitive motions including packing, labeling, and handling materials.
  • Bending/Squatting: Ability to bend or squat to lift materials, package products, or place items in appropriate storage or shipping areas.
  • Visual Acuity: Strong attention to detail to ensure labels are properly placed, quantities are correct, and products meet the required standards. Must also be able to inspect and verify packaging quality.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with team members, production leads, and the QC team to ensure orders are packed and shipped according to specifications.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy production and shipping environment. Potential exposure to shipping materials and packaging equipment.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues with finished products and packaging, including when shipments do not meet customer standards, and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Adaptability: Must be able to work in a flexible environment, adjusting to different tasks and pressures, especially during high-demand periods.

Responsibilities

  • Read job tickets provided with each job
  • Understand customers and company’s specifications to ensure that all jobs meet production standards, this includes shipping (FedEx and UPS), delivery, and will call protocols
  • Follow WIP (Work in progress) and work with Production assistant as well as finishing Lead.
  • Count, package and create labels, according to department standards
  • Work hand in hand with QC team to ensure that work meets all standards
  • Notify Production Manager about finished product that does not meet customer standards and that needs to be rejected or passed
  • Document and maintain a log of issues encountered in order to improve the production flow and the success of meeting standards
  • Continue improvement of packing knowledge, by understanding client’s requests and specifications
  • Reports to Production manager and must work hand in hand with, Production Assistant, QC Associates, and Finishing Lead.
