About The Position

METAL CRAFT, a precision machining company located in Elk River, MN, is seeking a FINISHER for their DEBURRING department. The company's mission is to provide custom precision manufacturing and innovative services to medical, aviation, space, defense, and emerging high-tech industries. The FINISHER will perform various functions including deburring, polishing, washing, assembling, bead blasting, and visualizing to ensure customer required finishes. This role involves pulling set-up sheets, running vibratory tumblers, bead blasting, hand finishing, and straightening parts.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to think independently.
  • Must pay attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work in other areas on an as needed basis.
  • Show initiative in work by being a self-starter, suggesting new ideas for completing a job, giving input as to how to improve the efficiency of a job, and organizing work time in order to complete jobs in a timely matter.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Deburring/finishing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use hand tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various functions such as deburring, polishing, washing, assembling, bead blasting, and visualizing to ensure customer required finishes.
  • Pull set up sheets to complete parts.
  • Run vibratory tumblers.
  • Operate and use bead blast blasting systems.
  • Obtain first piece and move forward on completing a job.
  • Develop knowledge to be able to make edits to the set-up sheets to improve efficiencies.
  • Examine cleaned objects to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Use hand tools such as deburring knives, chamfer tools, sheet sandpaper, and files to finish parts.
  • Operate and use vibratory finishing machines to tumble parts.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
