About The Position

METAL CRAFT, located in Elk River, MN, is a precision machining company with a mission to provide custom precision manufacturing and innovative services to medical, aviation, space, defense, and emerging high-tech industries. They are seeking a FINISHER for their DEBURRING department. The ideal candidate is passionate about their work and committed to quality, service, excellence, and innovation. The FINISHER will perform various functions such as deburring, polishing, washing, assembling, bead blasting, and visualizing to ensure customer required finishes. This role will pull set up sheets, run vibratory tumblers, bead blast, hand finish, and straighten parts.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to think independently.
  • Must pay attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work in other areas on an as needed basis.
  • Show initiative in work by being a self-starter, suggesting new ideas for completing a job, giving input as to how to improve the efficiency of a job, and organizing work time in order to complete jobs in a timely matter.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Deburring/finishing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use hand tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various functions such as deburring, polishing, washing, assembling, bead blasting, and visualizing to ensure customer required finishes.
  • Pull set up sheets to complete parts.
  • Run vibratory tumblers.
  • Operate and use bead blast blasting systems.
  • Hand finish and straighten parts.
  • Examine cleaned objects to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Use hand tools such as deburring knives, chamfer tools, sheet sandpaper, and files to finish parts.
  • Operate and use vibratory finishing machines to tumble parts.
  • Able to pull set up sheets to complete parts.
  • Develop knowledge to be able to make edits to the set-up sheets to improve efficiencies.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
