About The Position

We have an opening for a day shift Finished Goods Operator Mechanic. This role involves setting up and operating one piece of equipment and is eligible for training towards Machine Operator/Mechanic status. The operator will monitor equipment to ensure food safety and quality standards are met, perform quality checks, maintain records, adjust line speeds, and conduct daily/weekly equipment checks. The position also includes cleaning and maintaining the work area, assisting in training, and potentially operating multiple machines. Adherence to safety rules and company policies is essential.

Requirements

High school or equivalency needed.
Ability to speak, read and write English strongly preferred.
Required math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Use of charts and forms.
Basic computer skills needed.

Nice To Haves

Additional trades training a strong plus.
CRC (Bronze level or higher) a plus.

Responsibilities

Sets up and operates equipment.
Checks for the latest revision of the packing schedule before setting up the line.
Monitors equipment to assure that all product adheres to food safety and quality critical limits.
Visually and physically performs quality checks of labels and coding on the assigned line.
Keeps records of downtime and product checks.
Adjusts line speeds as needed.
Performs daily and weekly operational and pre-operational checks on assigned equipment.
Cleans and maintains the assigned work area.
Works on various lines as needed.
Follows safety rules and company policies.
Assists in training seasonal Machine Laborers.
Occasionally is responsible for more than one machine.
Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
Receives verbal and written instructions from supervisor on above tasks and performs other work as directed by supervisor.
