About The Position

Under general supervision, performs full performance level work in the identification and verification of fingerprints in the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). Receives, processes, maintains, and properly disseminates various criminal history records for the State. Position reports to the Biometric Identification Supervisor. Performs related work as required. This is a full-time position with state benefits.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.
  • A successful background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in fingerprint classification.
  • Successfully completed the Basic Henry Fingerprint Classification course.

Responsibilities

  • Compares and verifies fingerprints, through use of fingerprint ridge detail; determines match/non-match; retains fingerprint images in database.
  • Identifies and classifies fingerprints according to the Henry Classification System and through the use of the AFIS system.
  • Update records and files by consolidation.
