About The Position

This is a professional-level position within the County Auditor's Office, reporting to the Accounting Director. The role is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving the County's financial and business applications. The Financial Systems Administrator will serve as a technical resource to County departments and system users, and may act as a subject matter expert (SME) for system implementations, enhancements, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of experience supporting enterprise business systems, financial systems, software applications, or related technology functions.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to perform technical work in an organized and accurate manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, financial software, or governmental business systems preferred.
  • Experience developing reports, procedures, documentation, or training materials preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a detailed understanding of County business systems and related processes.
  • Performs system administration activities, including security administration, user support, system configuration, and maintenance.
  • Assists with software upgrades, testing, implementations, and system enhancements.
  • Researches and resolves system-related issues and operational questions.
  • Works with technical staff and vendors to identify and implement solutions.
  • Assists with the administration and maintenance of financial and business system data, workflows, and reporting structures.
  • Develops and maintains reports, queries, dashboards, and related reporting tools.
  • Assists departments with reporting and information needs.
  • Analyzes data and identifies opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Supports audit, compliance, and reporting requirements as assigned.
  • Assists with the validation and integrity of system data and reporting information.
  • Provides support services to system users as needed through phone, email, virtual, or in-person assistance.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of training materials, procedures, and documentation.
  • Conducts training and knowledge-sharing activities for system users.
  • Serves as a resource regarding business system processes, procedures, and functionality.
  • Participates in system implementation, enhancement, and process improvement projects.
  • Assists with evaluating business processes and recommending operational improvements.
  • Coordinates with County departments, vendors, and technical support personnel regarding system-related activities.
  • Assists with testing, documentation, and implementation of new system functionality.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
