About The Position

Healthcare Services Group, Inc. (HCSG) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Services Manager (FSM) to join our dynamic team. The FSM is assigned to a portfolio of commercial accounts and is responsible for all aspects of billing, credit, and collections for those accounts. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by engaging with clients, identifying potential issues, and developing strategic plans to minimize risks and optimize receivables collection. This role requires a combination of experience, creativity, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience in accounts receivable management and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and financial tools such as Excel.
  • Demonstrates integrity and handles private records and sensitive material with strict discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the long-term care industry is highly desirable, along with an understanding of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursements.
  • Familiarity with the bankruptcy process.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and proactively manage the financial performance of the company’s clients by working with sales, operations, legal, HR, and finance teams.
  • Engage with clients to understand their financial status and potential challenges in order to negotiate favorable terms for receivables collection.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue accounts and coordinate follow-up, clarification, and collection efforts.
  • Execute credit/risk analysis to assess client financial stability and prepare Aged Trial Balance reports, conducting necessary financial research to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement risk management measures.
  • Develop a keen understanding of industry dynamics, especially in Long Term Care and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursements, to anticipate challenges and opportunities for account collection.
  • Handle customer service calls related to billing and collections with a focus on excellence.
  • Engage in tactful communication with internal stakeholders and external clients with the ability to discuss intricate financial details clearly and concisely.
  • Consistently demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attend client meetings as needed.
  • Attend conferences.
