About The Position

This is the position where most banking professionals start their career. This front-line service and sales role will build the foundation for a long career in banking. Traditionally called a "teller", this role has evolved to include an elevated level of knowledge than previously required. Times have changed and so has the role. If you see yourself working in banking for the long run, this is where to start. This role is within our BlueShore Financial division, based out of our Burnaby Branch. Requirement for flexibility for Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday schedules.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of customer service and cash experience (sales experience preferred).
  • Some post-secondary education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process transactional needs of clients including cash transactions, deposits, withdrawals, loan/bill payments, cheque cashing/ordering, foreign currency, fund transfers, drafts, official cheques, and personal information updates on accounts.
  • Initiate conversations with clients to proactively identify their financial needs.
  • Enthusiastically sell banking products and services or refer clients with more complex requirements to specialized branch staff.
  • Apply and uphold branch policies, procedures and controls to meet compliance requirements and protect our branch and client's assets.
