About The Position

This position allows for partial telework with management approval. Currently, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or STEM OPT extensions. As a Financial Resources Specialist, you will help families improve their lives by providing them access to subsidies for childcare, enabling parents or guardians to be able to work or attend school. You will obtain and evaluate information from families in order to complete determinations and re-determinations of eligibility for childcare subsidies. You will ensure this information is entered into automated client information systems in an accurate and timely manner. You will initiate and monitor payments to providers. You will communicate directly with families and providers in order to obtain information and explain unit, state and federal rules, regulations and policies.

Requirements

  • A four (4) year combination of education, training, and/or progressively responsible experience performing administrative and/or complex clerical tasks.
  • Experience demonstrating interviewing and data gathering skills as needed to form the basis for judgments in eligibility determinations.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple and competing tasks to meet work deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze family information and make eligibility determinations in accordance with established standards.
  • Skilled in the use of standardized desktop technology and products (e-mail, word processing applications, spreadsheets, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and evaluate information from families to complete determinations and re-determinations of eligibility for childcare subsidies.

  • Communicate directly with families and providers to obtain information and explain rules, regulations, and policies.
