Reports to: Head of Controlling Standard Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST with 1 hour Lunch FLSA Status: Exempt/Salary Compensation: $ $65,000 - $75,000 Annual Salary Job Responsibility: The Financial Specialist is a cross-functional role responsible for quantitative reporting, corporate controlling, and tax compliance. This position executes statistical forecasting for budgets and applies Revenue Recognition principles while managing the end-to-end Sales Tax filing process for multiple jurisdictions. Leveraging SAP ERP and state-specific tax portals, the role ensures the integrity of financial data and maintains compliance with both IFRS and local tax regulations.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, finance, or other related degree program.
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience in accounting, controlling, or tax compliance. International experience highly desired.
  • Accounting: Solid understanding of bookkeeping, double-entry accounting, and IFRS.
  • Taxation: Proficiency in navigating state-specific tax filing systems and understanding Sales Tax Nexus rules.
  • Proficiency with SAP or other ERP program.
  • Advanced Excel and/ or Google Sheets quantitative skills with the ability to design spreadsheets and perform actions such as sorts, VLOOKUP, filters, and formulas to manipulate data and produce reports. Ability to work within multi-tab spreadsheets and more than one spreadsheet at a time.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency with SAP (or similar ERP), Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive), and MS Office (Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance & Filings: Manage and execute multi-state Sales Tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across various state-specific programs and portals.
  • Global Compliance Analysis: Analyze IFRS regulations to ensure all multi-jurisdictional financial reporting is compliant with global accounting frameworks
  • Accounting & Month-End Support: Support the accounting team in month-end closing procedures, ensuring correct ledger entries and reconciliation of tax accounts.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Apply statistical forecasting techniques and variance analysis to develop annual budgets and quarterly rolling forecasts.
  • Project Controlling: Manage complex project accounting using Revenue Recognition principles to determine profit margins and develop reports for senior management.
  • Data Integrity & Systems: Leverage SAP ERP and advanced Excel modeling to manipulate high-volume financial data sets and identify process inefficiencies.
  • Cash Flow Management: Maintain a centralized payment database to execute cash flow modeling and maintain the integrity of the project invoicing lifecycle.
