About The Position

The Financial Reporting & Tax Analyst plays a key role in supporting the company’s financial reporting and tax compliance. This position is responsible for executing core reporting processes, maintaining supporting schedules and reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial information across multiple entities. Working closely with the Senior Manager, this role helps maintain strong financial controls, supports the month-end close process, and contributes to the preparation of management reporting and regulatory filings. Foodtastic operates a multi-banner, multi-entity portfolio with an active acquisition cadence. The analyst is also expected to play a hands-on role in onboarding newly acquired banners into the reporting environment and to work in a team where reusable workpapers, documented procedures, and AI-assisted automation are standard tools rather than future projects.

Requirements

  • CPA designation in progress or recently obtained
  • 3–5 years of experience in financial reporting, or a similar role
  • Experience in NetSuite (experience in Workday Adaptive is an asset)
  • Demonstrated comfort using AI tools (Claude, copilotes, scripting) to draft, reconcile, and review work, with the judgment to critically evaluate AI output before relying on it
  • Strong interest in technology and automation
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively
  • Comfortable in a multi-entity, multi-banner environment with frequent post-acquisition integration

  • Support quality of earnings, due diligence, and lender data requests on live M&A transactions
  • Author and maintain reusable workpapers, schedules, and reconciliation routines so they can be repeated reliably each cycle by another analyst or AI agent without tribal knowledge
  • Design self-review controls for own work; investigate recurring exceptions and propose process or automation fixes rather than re-doing them each cycle
